Location

River John is a picturesque village on the north shore of Nova Scotia with a rural economy and a history in fishing, farming and shipbuilding. It offers a perfect backdrop for this innovative celebration of our Atlantic heritage. River John represents all the villages, towns, farms, wharves and settlements that dot our landscape. This place, where land meets the sea, personifies the deep sense of place our writers bring to their work. Bringing the best of our writers to the heart of our county, the heart of their country can only illuminate the readers, the listeners and the works. Join us for the most enjoyable day of your summer.
We are situated on the Sunrise Trail (Route 6) between Pictou and Tatamagouche. We are 50 kilometers west of New Glasgow, about 150 kilometers north of Halifax, and about 120 kilometers east of Amherst.
To find the Canadian Legion Hall, turn off Route 6 at the flashing yellow light. Follow the River John Station Road for just over a kilometer and you will see the Legion and parking lot on your left.
