Jessica Scott Kerrin
Halifax-based Jessica Scott Kerrin is the best-selling author of over fifteen books for kids—but she didn’t always want to be a writer. She wanted to be an astronaut. Then she had to get glasses when she was grade two, and that put an end to her starry dreams. Instead, she started writing stories, and when she grew up, she had an astronaut sign her book about rockets! But Jessica didn’t stick with stories about rocket launches. She also writes about monster lobsters, creepy cemeteries and giant tree forts. She’s mentored many writers, she’s toured hundreds of schools and libraries across Canada and the United States and her books have been translated into six languages. Rainbow Express is a children and family entertainment group that combines the talents of Crystal Mann and Clare Brett, two beautifully voiced music mamas who have led similar lives on the opposite coasts of Canada. Both classically trained singers whose instruments seamlessly transition from one genre to another. Be it an original, a folk song, a French song, Rock N’ Roll, or a lullaby, there is something for the whole family.
Crystal Mann/Kaleidoscope Kryss is the founder and leader of “Rainbow Express”. She is an ECMA and Music NS nominee and has over 30 years of experience performing and specializing in early childhood movement and music for young families. Crystal’s shows are colourful, respectful and down-to-earth. Her musical performances are a mix of old favourites, and refreshing original tunes that are fun for the young and the young-at-heart.
Clare Brett/Clare de Lune "...a voice as clear and sparkling as a creek swollen by spring runoff", is known across Canada and around the world as a multilingual, multi-style singer and musician.
